Bayonne Bridge to Close Friday Night, Reopen Saturday Morning

BAYONNE, NJ – The Bayonne Bridge will be closed from tonight, Friday, June 17, at 11:59 p.m. until 8 a.m. Saturday, June 18, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey announced.  

The bridge will then remain open for the remainder of the weekend in observance of Father’s Day. It will close again on Monday, June 20 at 9 a.m. for the bridge’s normal weekday closure schedule.

During the week, the bridge is closed on Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Mondays through Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

On certain weekdays, the Bayonne Bridge opens a half hour earlier at 4:30 a.m. to provide an alternate route for those affected by 4:30 to 5 a.m. traffic holds on the Goethals Bridge.

These closures accommodate ongoing construction work on the “Raise the Roadway” project.
