BAYONNE, NJ – The Bayonne High School Girls Tennis Team defeated the Secaucus High School Patriots 5-0 in postseason quarterfinal action on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at the William Broderick Tennis Courts on the BHS campus.

Junior Stephanie Peters (6-1, 6-1), senior Nada Wahba (6-2, 6-1) and Leah Nevins all won their singles matches. Laura Maltez and Alaysia Myrick won their doubles match, as did Michelle Naval and Citali Uraga.

The Bees improved to 15-6 on the year. The Patriots fell to 15-8.

Bayonne plays Kearny High School, 17-2, in the semifinals 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3, at West Hudson Park in Kearny. The Kardinals beat the Bees twice this year, but both were close matches.
