Bayonne H.S. Model UN Club Wins Sustainability Video Contest

BAYONNE, NJ – The Bayonne High School Model UN Club had a year full of victories. Prior to the end of the year, the group picked up one more to cap the most successful year in club history, bringing home first place in the National High School Model UN’s (NHSMUN) Video Contest.  

The video, titled “The Sustainable Development Story of Bayonne” highlighted the various sustainability efforts throughout the city, focusing on the United Nation’s 17 UN Sustainable Development goals.

Led by social studies teacher Evan Wexler, the Bayonne High School Model UN Club won a $1,000 scholarship towards the 2019 NJSMUN Conference in New York City.

The club previously captured the “Award of Excellence” at the 2018 conference. Additionally, six students, Tatyana Aponte, Ashley Caleb, Jared Chimento, Jassie Morcos, Stephanie Peters and Katelyn Seecharan, received Best Delegate awards for their efforts at the conference.
