BAYONNE, NJ – Swim lessons at DiDomenico Municipal Pool are back in 2018.
The Bayonne Division of Recreation will offer three different programs throughout the summer at the city’s pool in 16th Street Park: Beginner, Parent & Me and Special Needs.
Lifeguards are on-hand for every lesson, with a 1-to-8 ratio of instructors to students. Each program includes water safety and swim-technique lessons.
The Beginner lessons will be split up into multiple age groups: 1st and 2nd Grade, 3rd and 4th Grade and 5th through 8th Grade. Lessons are available on Sunday mornings or Tuesday nights beginning June 24 through August 2.
The six-week Beginner program costs $125 per swimmer. Family discounts are available for multiple swimmers, including a $75 fee for a second child, with subsequent registrants being free.
Families with children ages 2-3 may register for the “Parent & Me” class that is geared towards parents “spending quality time together while easier their child” in the pool, the city’s website said.
Each lesson over the course of the 6 week program is 30 minutes every Saturday beginning July 14. The cost is $75 for one parent and one swimmer.
The Special Needs program, open to anyone with special needs between 4 and 21 years old, meet every Monday night for six weeks beginning on July 16. This program is free.
Registration for swim lessons and other summer activities will be held at the Summer Camp Expo on June 16 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Veterans Stadium.
