Bayonne to Hold National Night Out on Broadway on Tuesday, August 1

Mayor Jimmy Davis invited Bayonne residents to join the Bayonne Police Department on Tuesday, August 1, for this year’s National Night Out on Broadway between 21st Street and 23rd Street, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Mayor Davis said, “National Night Out is a great event that promotes safer communities across America.  I would like to invite the people of Bayonne to join with the Bayonne Police Department on National Night Out, and to work with the police against crime throughout the year.”

Police Chief Drew Sisk said, “The Bayonne Police Department looks forward to hosting National Night Out 2017 in conjunction with Bayonne’s Special Improvement District/Urban Enterprise Zone.”  Chief Sisk continued, “National Night Out provides the Police Department the opportunity to build friendships with people from all parts of the Bayonne community.  We look forward to welcoming the public to an enjoyable evening on Broadway, on Tuesday, August 1.”    

National Night Out is an event designed to increase awareness about police programs in the community, strengthen police-community partnerships, and make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.

The Bayonne Night Out event will feature free rides, food, and soft drinks.  Music will be provided by DJ Jose.  From 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., there will be free ice cream sponsored by Carvel and BCB Community Bank.

National Night Out began in 1984.  It has grown to include 38 million people and more than 16,000 communities from all fifty American states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. 

The Police Department would like to thank its many co-sponsors and supporters for making National Night Out 2017 a reality.  They are the Bayonne Special Improvement District/Urban Enterprise Zone, the 22nd Street Meat Market, DJ Jose, Pete Amadeo and the Bayonne Recreation Division, the Bayonne Housing Authority, Kayco (Kedem/Royal Wine), Star Snacks, Pepsico, the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, McCabe Ambulance, CarePoint Health, the Bayonne Fire Department, Carvel Ice Cream, and BCB Community Bank.
