Bayonne’s Third Bergen Point Fall Festival Runs Saturday

BAYONNE, NJ – Downtown city residents hope the third time is a charm for the Bergen Point Fall Festival, which takes place Saturday, Oct. 15 from noon to 6 p.m. on Broadway from 5th to Cottage streets.

The inaugural festival in 2014 and last year’s celebration were well received, and there is an expectation for a good third year, according to city officials.

“Come and join us for a community celebration,” said one.

Like in previous years, there will be music, other entertainment and plenty of food.

Billed by the city’s Urban Enterprise Zone office as “a fun day for the whole family,” children’s attractions will include inflatable rides, balloon sculpture, sand art and face painting.

But the fun won’t end there.

In observance of Halloween later this month, there will be a dog costume contest at noon (11:30 a.m. registration). Festival hosts invite you to “Bring your pooches in their favorite costumes.” First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded.

And of course there will be plenty of items available for those looking to shop, including specialty vendors and merchants and other “unique shopping opportunities.”

The fall festival is hosted by hosted by the Bergen Point area merchants and Bayonne UEZ.
