CarePoint Health Sponsoring Colorectal Cancer Education at Mall Saturday


CarePoint Health will hold its 2018 Colorectal Cancer Awareness Event at the Newport Centre mall on Saturday, March 31 from noon to 2 p.m.

The event will consist of education and outreach activities. CarePoint representatives will speak with attendees about the conditions that may lead to colorectal cancer. They will also talk with participants on a one-on-one basis.

Dr. Jeevan Vinod will represent CarePoint and will be available to answer residents’ questions.

Other CarePoint medical professionals will hand out flyers about colon cancer, educating visitors about the importance of screenings and recognizing the signs and symptoms of the disease.

The event will be held in the lower level of Macy’s Court at Newport Centre, 30 Mall Dr., Jersey City.

About 140,000 people are diagnosed with colon cancer in the United States annually, and more than 50,000 people die from it. Early detection is the key to surviving the disease.
