BAYONNE, NJ - County and local efforts to achieve a complete count for Census 2020 will continue in Bayonne on Sunday, with a census countdown party at Kopcinski Park, by 19th Street and Broadway.
Co-sponsored by the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF), the event will be held from 11:00 a.m until 2:00 p.m. and feature a Corn Guys food truck that will offer free meals to the first 150 households that complete the census at the event. The Corn Guys will offer grilled corn, hot dogs, and sodas. Attendees who have already completed the census can also attend the party and purchase food and drinks.
“This event will give Bayonne residents who have not been counted in the census an opportunity to do so, along with a nice meal from a food truck. Those who have been counted already in the census can come to buy good American food as we celebrate Census 2020.” Mayor Jimmy Davis announced “I would like to thank the Hudson County government and the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF) for co-sponsoring this Census 2020 countdown party in Bayonne. I hope that numerous Bayonne residents will take advantage of this opportunity to be counted in Census 2020. We want all of our residents to be in the census before September 30.”
The Bayonne food truck event will happen rain or shine. The county will provide three tents for cover. There will be ten stand-up tables for those who want a place to eat on-site.
Face masks and social distancing will be required at the event.
