BAYONNE, NJ – A portion of 1st Street that had been closed due to Bayonne Bridge construction has been reopened, and the city says that there are no local street closures at this time.

Work on the Bayonne Bridge Navigational Clearance Project, also known as “Raise the Roadway,” began in 2013 and is expected to last until mid-2019.

In addition, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey said that the bridge construction will only keep the crossing closed for part of the upcoming weekend.
