BAYONNE, NJ- The man whose political acumen helped propel Jimmy Davis to two election victories has announced that he will be leaving his job as Business Administrator for the City of Bayonne at the end of the month.

Joe DeMarco served as Davis’ campaign manager in both 2014 and 2018 and has been at the helm of operations at Bayonne City Hall throughout this time. A lawyer by trade, DeMarco will be joining the law firm of Chasan Lamparello in Secaucus.

“It’s just time,” DeMarco told TAPinto Bayonne when asked why he decided to depart. “I am grateful for the four years Mayor Davis has given me and that he placed his confidence in me  to help guide Bayonne forward.”

Speaking at a city hall event on Monday Council President Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski praised DeMarco’s leadership and said that his successor will have “big shoes to fill.”

“When we came into office we had a vision,” Nadrowski, who ran on a slate with Davis in both elections, said. “Joe was one of the people that helped our vision come true,” she continued, citing his success at bringing a resolution to the lawsuit which has stifled development at the former Military Ocean Terminal site for decades.

DeMarco added that he hopes to continue to be a part of “Bayonne’s next phase of redevelopment” as a special counsel for the city.
