Draft of Bayonne’s Proposed Master Plan is Available on City Website

The City of Bayonne invites residents to read the draft report on the re-examination of the municipality’s Master Plan.  The draft report is available on the left-hand side of the homepage of the municipal website, which is at  The draft report is listed under the title of “City of Bayonne Master Plan.” The report was drafted by DMR Architects following a series of meetings and consultations in Bayonne since 2015.  The general public is invited to read the report and offer its comments at a Master Plan workshop on Monday, June 26, at 7:00 p.m., in the Bayonne City Council Chambers, City Hall, 630 Avenue C.

Master Plans set goals for development, preservation, transportation, recreation, and other aspects of the community’s future.  Bayonne’s most recent Master Plan was adopted in 2000.  The principal purpose of a Master Plan re-examination is to produce modifications in an existing zoning ordinance, in order to reflect updated priorities.  Bayonne’s current zoning ordinance was adopted in 2002.

The Master Plan consultant, DMR Architects, was founded by architect Lloyd Rosenberg in 1991.  The firm describes itself as “a premier full-service architectural, planning and urban design firm dedicated to progressive, innovative and sustainable high-quality design.”  DMR is located in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.  It has performed professional services in New Jersey, New York, China, Costa Rica, Nigeria, and Romania.
