Give Blood on Saturday to Honor Veterans

BAYONNE – The celebration of veterans and their service has been extended in Bayonne a week past Veterans Day through the blood drive being hosted on Saturday, Nov. 19 by Catholic War Veterans Post 1612 and Bayonne Community Bank.

From 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. blood donations will be accepted at the CWV Post, 18 West 23rd St., according to Commander John Nicaretta.

“This blood drive is in honor of all veterans,” Nicaretta said.

Those donating blood can walk in, but appointments are preferred. To schedule an appointment, call (800) RED-CROSS on Friday, Nov. 18 or sign up online at redcrossblood.org, entering sponsor code “CWV Post 1612”.

Hot breakfast or lunch will be served by Bayonne Boy Scouts to those donating blood.
