BAYONNE, NJ  - A New York man was allegedly under the influence of heroin when Bayonne Police arrested him Sunday after he was observed burglarizing a vehicle on West 20th Street.

According to Captain Eric Amato, Amir M. Fam, 41, was taken into custody at approximately 7:42 a.m. In a report Amato said that police responded to the area of 21st and Broadway after a witness reported seeing Fam enter a parked vehicle on West 20th Street without permission and rummage through the glove box and center console.

During the arrest process, a pair of headphones was recovered from Fam’s person which Fam did not claim ownership of. Those headphones were confiscated as possible proceeds of another burglary to a vehicle.
