PATERSON, NJ -  Two people were shot in the area of 12th Avenue and Auburn Street Thursday evening, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced. 

According to reports members of the Paterson Police Department were called to the area at approximately 5:40 p.m. on a report of shots fired. While responding to the scene, officers were advised that a shooting victim was located at the corner of Hamilton Avenue and Auburn Street.

Upon arrival officers located a 29-year-old Paterson man who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound. A short time later members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 43-year-old Belford resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.
