BAYONNE, NJ - Bayonne firefighters made quick work of fire on the roof of 423 Broadway on Saturday.

According to Fire Chief Keith Weaver, members of the Bayonne Fire Department arrived at the scene at approximately 4:45 p.m. and used hand lines to extinguish the blaze just as flames started to extend into a neighboring three-story mixed use building.

The fire was placed under control in about 15 minutes with no injuries reported. One family was temporarily displaced, and, while the fire does not seem suspicious in nature the cause is under investigation.
