BAYONNE, NJ - A 21-year-old Jersey City man was arrested Wednesday after he failed to comply with a request from members of the Bayonne Police Department to leave the DiDomenico Park after closing.
According to Captain Eric Amato, officers responded to the area just before 10:00 p.m. on a report of a large crowd gathering on the boat ramp. As officers attempted to move the crowd, a male, later identified as Mena Soliman, allegedly became irate and began yelling.
While officers advised him to lower his voice, as it was disturbing the tranquility of the neighborhood and violating the municipal noise ordinance, he reportedly continued to yell and disregard the officers’ orders to lower his voice. As officers attempted to collect his identification to issue him a summons for violating the noise ordinance, he refused and attempted to walk away before being placed under arrest.
