Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael A. Wanko and Board President Joseph T. Broderick cordially invite you to the 2nd Annual Field of Heroes ceremony. The event will take place in the Alexander X. O’Connor Auditorium, 669 Avenue A, Bayonne, New Jersey 07002 on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
In keeping with the success of last year’s event we will continue to line the front of Bayonne High School with American Flags. Each flag will represent a five-dollar donation and each will honor a past or present member of the Armed Forces.
Please consider purchasing a flag to be displayed on the Bayonne High School lawn in honor of a hero. More information is available on our website www.bboed.org. All proceeds will be presented to the Joyce Herbert V.F.W. Post 226 Veterans Museum.
Our committee will choose six nominees submitted by the public. These potential awardees should represent honorable service to the country; as well as, our local community. It is perfectly acceptable to submit both current and former residents of Bayonne.
When submitting a nominee please include the Name, Branch of Service, Rank, and a Small Biography detailing their service to the nation and Bayonne. You are also encouraged to add a statement as to why you believe they deserve special designation in our ceremony.
All nominations are to be sent to Bayonne High School 669 Avenue A, Bayonne, New Jersey 07002 care of Dr. Dennis C. Degnan, Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
Submissions must be received no later than September 8, 2017.
