Shoppers Get Break in Bayonne During Holidays with Free Lot Parking

BAYONNE, NJ – People helping to stimulate the Bayonne economy will receive a small reward next month, as those parking in lots in non-commercial vehicles during the holiday shopping season will not have to pay for it.

There will be free parking for all of December in Bayonne Parking Utility lots for non-commercial vehicles, according to Mayor James Davis.

However, the free parking program does not apply to commercial vehicles or to on-street parking meters. All commercial and non-commercial drivers must continue feeding the meters on streets.

“The purpose of the free parking program in the lots is to encourage people to shop in Bayonne during the holiday season,” Davis said.

The paid permit program for commercial vehicles that park overnight in the lots will remain in effect.

The free parking in lots program will last through Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. Lot parking charges will resume for non-commercial vehicles on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017.
