Sources: Man Commits Suicide in Downtown Bayonne


BAYONNE, NJ – Multiple sources confirmed that a Bayonne man committed suicide by shooting himself in the head on Thursday morning, June 16.

One source said that the man lived on First Street and was distraught about the loss of his wife. Another source said that the man had gone to Dennis P. Collins Park to a memorial site dedicated to his wife, who died of cancer, before shooting himself.

A section of the park was still blocked off by police investigation tape at 11:45 a.m. Six police vehicles were parked in the vicinity.
