Torrential Rain Causes Bayonne Turnpike Ramp Closure and Flooded Roads

BAYONNE, NJ - The heavy rain experienced throughout most of Sunday night into Monday morning has caused multiple closures and flooded roads.

According to the Bayonne Office of Emergency Management Facebook page, bridge underpasses and other areas known for flooding are impassable and the New Jersey Turnpike ramp is shutdown.

Drivers needing to access the New Jersey Turnpike can do so using Route 440 or from Avenue E, south of 49th Street. Additionally, access into Bayonne from Avenue E southbound is closed, according to the Facebook post.

The Office of Emergency Management warns all drivers to not attempt to pass through sitting water.
