BAYONNE, NJ - Bayonne adults are invited to “Paddle the Peninsula” on Saturday. The free kayaking event will take place at DiDomenico- 16th Street Park from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

“Paddle the Peninsula will provide fun for all participants,” Mayor Jimmy Davis said. “We look forward to this great event, which will take advantage of Bayonne’s prime location on the Newark Bay waterfront.”

According to a statement kayaks will enter Newark Bay from the boat launch at the foot of park with participants using their own kayaks or ones provided for free at the event. In addition to kayaking on-shore activities at the park will include a barbecue, games, and music provided by a disc jockey.

Registration for the event is required and kayakers must be 18 year of age or older. Participants can register by calling Jackie in the Bayonne Public Works Department at 201-858-6131.

“Paddle the Peninsula is the latest in a series of activities that are intended to bring our community together at enjoyable events,” Davis concluded.
