BAYONNE, NJ - Bayonne residents are invited to join together with the Bayonne Police Department in efforts to make their city safer by participating in National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6.
Hosted by the Bayonne Police Department and the Bayonne Urban Enterprise Zone/Special Improvement District, the event will feature food and family fun on Broadway between 21st Street and 23rd Street from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
“National Night Out is a great event that promotes safer neighborhoods and police-community partnerships across America,” Mayor Jimmy Davis said. “I would like to invite the people of Bayonne to join with the Bayonne Police Department on National Night Out, and to work with the police against crime throughout the year.”
Bayonne’s National Night Out event will feature free children’s rides, free popcorn, various giveaway items, soft drinks, snacks, music by DJ Pete Amadeo, and displays from agencies and organizations. No goods or services are allowed to be sold at the event. Public Safety vehicles will be on display and several agencies, including the Bayonne Department of Public Works, the Bayonne Housing Authority, the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, McCabe Ambulance, and the Bayonne Fire Department will also be participating.
Sponsors include BCB Community Bank, Kayco (Kedem/Royal Wines), Rainforest Distributors (beverage distribution),and other local businesses. Several non-profit organizations will also participate in the event.
“This event presents a great opportunity for the Bayonne Police Department to reach out to the community,” Police Chief Geisler said. “Our job is to provide the highest level of service to the people of Bayonne. We look forward to seeing our residents and having a good time together at National Night Out on August 6.”
