BAYONNE, NJ - Bayonne High School officials have announced that Daria Kukhar, a junior has been accepted to the New Jersey Scholars Program.

According to their website the New Jersey Scholars Program is a tuition-free five-week summer program for New Jersey high school students heading heading into their senior year.

Through a series of lectures, small-group seminars, extensive reading assignments, and the production of a 10-15 page research paper, the  “intense interdisciplinary intellectual experience” is designed to “change students’ lives by teaching them to think in a new way.”

Attendees also contributed to an Arts Festival related to the program further utilizing their creative talents in art, music, writing, drama, and public speaking.

Daria’s acceptance marks the second year in a row that a Bayonne High School junior has been invited to participate in the prestigous program.
