BAYONNE, NJ - Acknowledging that Governor Phil Murphy’s proposal to add a “millionaires tax” to the New Jersey State Budget doesn’t currently have the support it needs from their caucus, Assemblymembers Nicholas Chiaravalloti and Angela McKnight announced Tuesday that they would vote in favor of the measure it it comes before them.

While legislative leaders, including Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin and Senate President Stephen Sweeney, spar with Murphy over the measure, Bayonne’s representatives in Trenton said that they will “continue to work toward a budget that supports middle-class priorities and is fiscally responsible for all New Jerseyans.”

Lawmakers have until June 30 to pass and enact a budget for the fiscal year that begins on July 1.
