BAYONNE, NJ - A 74-year-old Bayonne man is in stable condition at Bayonne Medical Center after being tested as positive for COVID-19, coronavirus, according to a statement by Mayor Jimmy Davis.

Depsite extensive efforts undertaken by Davis' Administration to slow the spread of the virus, he said, officials knew “it was only a matter of time when one of our residents would be affected.”

“This is certainly not a time for panic or fear,” Davis said, asking residents to follow the advice and directives that have been put in place, and follow health protocols such as hand washing and social distancing. 

“We are all praying for our neighbor’s speedy recovery and the safety and well-being of all of us,” Davis concluded.
