JERSEY CITY, NJ – Former Bayonne mayor Joseph Doria has been named to the Hudson County Community College Board of Trustees, William J. Netchert, the Board’s chair announced. Doria will be sworn in to the position at the Board’s meeting on October 8 along with Adamarys Galvin of North Bergen. The pair’s term will run until October 31, 2021.
“It is our great pleasure to welcome Dr. Doria and Ms. Galvin, who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their new positions on the Board,” Netchert said. “It is also an honor to recognize the contributions of our colleagues, Joanne Kosakowski, Judge Kevin Callahan, and Adrienne Sires.”
Doria, who served as mayor from 1998-2007 is currently Dean of the School of Education at Saint Peter’s University as well as a part-time faculty member at the Rutgers University-New Brunswick Eagleton Institute of Politics, and a Principal at Magis Strategies.
Prior to serving as mayor Doria was a member of the Bayonne Board of Education, and later served in both the New Jersey General Assembly and State Senate, and was appointed by Governor Jon Corzine to serve as Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
