BAYONNE, NJ - Two Jersey City teens were charged with robbery Monday after allegedly shoplifting several items from the 7-11 at 765 Broadway.

According to Lt. Eric Amato, the juveniles, a 17-year-old male and 14-year-old female, entered the store and began removing items from the shelves and placing them in shopping bags they brought in with them.

When the store’s employee approached the suspects he was allegedly pushed by the male and struck in the face with an open hand by the female. The suspects are also said to have opened their drink bottles and poured the contents on the victim before fleeing.

The suspects then fled only to be located by police officers in the area of 36th Street and Avenue E in possession of the shopping bags that are said to have contained the proceeds of the robbery.
