The quick action of the firefighters prevented the flames from spreading into the air shaft and the response of the building’s superintendent prevented any residents from being displaced fire officials said.

While multiple sources said that the fire was minutes from growing into a massive blaze Fire Chief Keith Weaver told TAPinto Bayonne that “this is the type of fire response that we are really proud of.”

“Our firefighters responded quickly and professionally and did an outstanding job keeping this fire contained.”
