BAYONNE, NJ - Members of the Bayonne Fire Department made quick work of a blaze in the first-floor apartment in a four-story apartment building early Saturday. According to Fire Chief Keith Weaver the call came in at approximately 5:01 a.m. and firefighters responded to 41-43 Kelly Parkway for a reported fire.

Firefighters used a handline to extinguish the blaze in less than 20 minutes. Two residents were safely evacuated from the building that was deemed to need only minor repairs before being reoccupied. “Once again our firefighters acted quickly and professionally to keep this fire from spreading into the neighboring apartments and kept damage to a minimum,” Weaver said.
