BAYONNE, NJ - A beautifully landscaped property just off Rt 287 in Boonton is home to the New Jersey Fireman’s Home, the only licensed healthcare and long-term care facility in the state that is dedicated to New Jersey’s Bravest.

On Friday, a group of current and retired members of the Bayonne Fire Department showed that even long after a career is over you’re never out of the firefighting family.

Bayonne’s Bravest usually make a few special visits a year to the home and thoroughly enjoy the time there, one of the outing’s organizers said.

“We enjoy coming here and sharing time with our past members,” retired firefighter and past FMBA Local 11 President Pete Bonner told TAPinto Bayonne after the trip in which they helped serve a special lunch. “It’s important to show them we care.”
