BAYONNE, NJ - A 26-year-old Bayonne man with 34 outstanding warrants out of Bayonne, Hoboken, and Jersey City was arrested Saturday after he allegedly stabbed another man in the neck during an altercation.

According to Captain Eric Amato, members of the Bayonne Police Department responded to the area of West 1st Street on a report of a panic alarm at approximately 9:41 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 26, with a laceration to his neck. The suspect reported that he had been attacked by Jarrett R. Bell during an altercation over a personal matter.

While officers were at Bayonne Medical Center where the victim was receiving treatment, they observed a male matching Bell's description outside. Bell, the report states, was there to be treated for a laceration to his forearm and finger.

Officers began an investigation and determined that Bell was the actor of the stabbing and placed him under arrest, charging him with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and for having the outstanding warrants.
