BAYONNE, NJ - A motor vehicle stop by members of the Bayonne Police Department led to the arrest of an armed Jersey City man Tuesday, Bayonne Police Captain Eric Amato reported.
According to Amato, Dante N. Degregoda, 28, was stopped at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the area of 52nd Street and Broadway. During the traffic stop, officers are said to have detected a strong odor of raw marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a quantity of marijuana, as well as a defaced .38 cal. revolver loaded with 5 rounds and a .40 cal. handgun with a magazine loaded with 8 rounds.
It was later learned that Degregoda was also wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Elizabeth.
