BAYONNE, NJ - Two Union City men were arrested by Bayonne Police Thursday after one was found to be carrying a handgun and high capacity magazine while the other was in possession of marijuana and a scale.

According to Captain Eric Amato, members of the Bayonne Police Department observed the two, later identified as Luis D. Ramos, 18, and Joshua K. Torres, 19,  “acting suspiciously” while walking in the area of 54th Street and Avenue C at approximately 8:43 p.m.

After approaching the men to make an inquiry the officers are said to have immediately detected a strong odor of raw marijuana emanating from the pair. An investigation led to the discovery of the weapon and drugs and both men were placed under arrest.
