BAYONNE, NJ - Former pro-footballer, and Bayonne native, Kenny Britt was arrested on drugs charges Sunday after being pulled over by Bayonne Police, according to law enforcement officials.

In a statement Lt. Eric Amato announced that Britt was pulled over while driving a 2019 black-colored Rambler truck at approximately 3:13 p.m. in the area of 33rd Street and JFK Boulevard. 

When approaching the vehicle, the report continued, officers immediately detected a strong odor of raw marijuana. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana.

Britt has had several run-ins with the law and was previously arrested in Bayonne in 2011 after attempting to elude police while driving 70 mph on a city street, 

In addition to the drugs charge Britt was also issued two motor vehicle summonses.

Britt was processed and released on a summons.
