BAYONNE, NJ - A 28-year-old Jersey City woman faces several criminal charges after allegedly causing a disturbance at the Motor Vehicle Commission office on Kennedy Boulevard Tuesday.

According to Lt. Eric Amato, Shawna Joseph was initially thrown out of the MVC office by the manager at 2:00 p.m. after she became irate over the number of people in line. She later returned at approximately 3:50, this time allegedly pushing the manger and breaking $23,000 worth of computer equipment.

Joseph allegedly struck both the manager and a security officer with closed fists, eventually turning her violence towards responding officer whom she repeatedly resisted by kicking.  Joseph was ultimately subdued and taken into custody.

A search of Joseph led to the discovery of a PCP-laced marijuana cigarette and the discovery that she had initially given a false identity. Joseph was taken to Hudson County Jail while the manager was taken to an area hospital to be treated for injuries.
