BAYONNE, NJ - While much of Bayonne was considering their lunch hour members of the Bayonne Fire Department were called to West 22nd Street on Monday to battle a multi-home blaze. Upon arrival shortly after 12:30 p.m. firefighters were confronted with heavy flames in neighboring homes.

Despite the difficult conditions, including high heat, firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading further, reducing danger to the neighborhood.

While both homes were deemed uninhabitable, no injuries were reported. Bayonne OEM and the Red Cross were on scene to provide assistance to the occupants.
