BAYONNE, NJ - A “lengthy and detailed investigation” by the Bayonne Police Detective Bureau has led to the arrests of Newark woman and Elizabeth man in connection with an October armed robbery at Massa’s Tavern.
As previously reported by TAPinto Bayonne, the incident took place on October 14, 2019 and included the suspects, identified as Yazmin C. Hernandez, 27, and Almeen S. Irving, 22, allegedly entering the premises in ski masks and carrying a firearm.
After demanding that the bartender give them all of the money, the suspects are said to have robbed two patrons of their personal belongings before locking all three in the basement. A fourth victim was also assaulted and robbed when, after knocking on the tavern’s door to check on her friend was confronted by the suspects, dragged inside, and pushed to the floor.
The investigation led to the issuance of warrants for both suspects on Wednesday at which time Hernandez turned herself in to Bayonne Police HQ and Irving was located and arrested by members of the Elizabeth Police Department.
