BAYONNE, NJ - Three Bayonne men were arrested Thursday after attempting to flee on foot from a car they had allegedly stolen just hours earlier.

According to Lt. Eric Amato, the vehicle’s owner reported the 2017 GMC Terrain stolen from the 700 block of JFK Blvd just after 7:30 am.

Following a notification by On-Star as to the whereabouts of the vehicle, officers searched the area around 1241 JFK Blvd., finding the stolen vehicle parked along a fence just up the block.

Upon approaching police observed two males, later identified as Juan Hernandez, 19, and Jeremiah Ross, 18, exit the vehicle, The suspects, police said, fled on foot before being apprehended a short while later. 

During the on-scene investigation, it was learned that a third suspect David Adbelnour, 19, was also involved in the theft. Adbelnour was observed walking in front of 1225 JFK Blvd., and, after being stopped by police, identified as being inside the vehicle after K-9 units from the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office picked up his scent in the vehicle.

All three men were transferred to Hudson County Jail.
