BAYONNE, NJ - A 30-year-old Bayonne man was arrested Sunday after his “erratic behavior” caused “area residents to become alarmed.”

According to Captain Eric Amato, members of the Bayonne Police Department were called to the area of 18th Street and Avenue C at approximately 6:50 p.m. on a report of a man throwing garbage cans. Upon arrival, officers encountered Colton D. Spriggs “acting in a tumultuous manner while tensing his body and clenching his fists” as the officers attempted to speak with him.

After refusing to comply with the officers' commands to cease his behavior, Spriggs was taken into custody for disorderly conduct. During the arrest process, it was learned that Spriggs was wanted on a warrant issued out of the Bayonne Municipal Court and a warrant issued out of the Hoboken Municipal Court.
