UNION, NJ -- Keith Simon, who represented Bayonne in the NJSIAA Region 4 wrestling tournament last weekend, made a strong showing.

Simon was seeded third in the 220-pound weight class. He received a bye in the first round, then defeated Rob Lerner of Scotch Plains-Fanwood, 5-3, in the quarterfinal round.

Facing second-seeded Gage Horvath of state wrestling power Phillipsburg in the 220 semifinals, Simon came out on the short end of a tough, well-fought, 3-1 decision.
