BAYONNE, NJ -- The Bayonne girls basketball team survived a low-scoring first half and slowly pulled away for a 43-30 victory over Bridgewater-Raritan in the quarterfinal round of the Section 2, Group 4 state tournament Thursday night.

Eniya Scott collected 18 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals for Bayonne (25-3), which clung to a 17-13 lead at the half and didn't secure the victory until a 14-8 showing in the fourth quarter.

Makoye Diawara finished with 10 points and five rebounds for the Bees, and Logine Moustafa sank a pair of 3-pointers in the victory. Bayonne will host Franklin in the semifinals on Saturday. Franklin beat Bayonne in the 2019 sectional final en route to the overall Tournament of Champions title.
