BAYONNE, NJ -- The Bayonne High School girls basketball team broke away from Marist in the third quarter and went on to a 65-36 victory on Saturday in the first game of the Marist Tip Off Classic.

Mary Lavin scored 16 points, including 12 in the second half, for Bayonne (2-0), which outscored Marist, 25-12, in the third quarter to take a 46-26 lead.

Eniya Scott finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and five steals for the Bees. Makoye Diawara contributed 13 points, a team-high 12 rebounds and three assists for Bayonne.
