BAYONNE, NJ -- The Bayonne girls basketball team opened what it hopes will be a very successful season with a 69-11 victory over North Bergen on Friday night.

Makoye Diawara scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Bees, who broke to a 25-5 lead after one quarter.

Sophomore guard Jolyssa Moody finished with 15 points, three assists and two steals, and sophomore point guard Eniya Scott collected 11 points, 12 assists, six rebounds and five steals in the victory. Senior forward Jada Phillips had nine points and seven rebounds.
