UNION, NJ -- The Bayonne ice hockey team charged back from an early three-goal deficit, but fell short in a 5-3 loss to Jonathan Dayton High School in the first round of the McMullen Cup on Friday.

After Dayton (13-4-1) took a 3-1 lead, Braden Dunlap scored for Bayonne before the end of the first period with an assist from Tristan Wolenski.

Dayton went ahead, 5-1, but Bayonne battled back with two third-period goals by Anthony O'Brien. Shawn Agosto made 15 saves for the Bees.
