BELMAR NJ — Tickets for tomorrow's Beach Music Studios’ 13th Annual Holiday Party at the iconic Stone Pony in Asbury Park will be available at the door.
Beginning at noon on December 3, Belmar’s own holiday musical classic will kick off, featuring performances by the Beach Music Rock Band, Beach Music Studio students and the Danny White Band with “special guests.”
In addition, Beach Music Studios will award its annual scholarship to Kevin Herrera, a Belmar Elementary School seventh-grader who will receive one year of free music lessons and a musical instrument.
The special occasion will once again include a toy drive for children in need this holiday season. And word has it that Santa Claus will also make a surprise appearance.
“This is our most-anticipated event of the year, held at one of the most-treasured venues at the Jersey Shore,” said musician Danny White, owner of Beach Music Studios. “The concert gives our students an opportunity to showcase their talents and the toy drive allows us to make the holidays brighter for those needing a helping hand at this time in their lives.
“It’s our way of giving back to our community and to enjoy an afternoon of great entertainment by so many young, talented musicians,” White said. “And the support we receive from the Belmar community for this event is always so overwhelming, each and every year.”
And if you're a New York Knicks fan, there will be a special raffle of two premium tickets to an upcoming game at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks donated the pair of tickets, valued at $300, for the team’s February 6 match-up against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Only 45 “red” raffle tickets, priced at $30 each, are available to win the prize. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the holiday party, where the winner will be announced and must be present to claim the coveted prize. Proceeds will support the Beach Music Studios Annual Scholarship Fund.
Beach Music Rock Band, known by its acronym BMRB, is certainly a crowd-pleaser, performing tunes that range from early rock ‘n’ roll to rap. What makes BMRB even more impressive is its young talent, with members ranging in age from 8 to 18 — all students at Beach Music Studios. While BMRB has quite a following from appearances at venues in the community throughout the year, the holiday party is its marquee event.
Open to people of all ages, the festivities will feature food courtesy of 10th Avenue Burrito Company, as well as a host of giveaways and raffles with prizes donated by area businesses. Generous supporters have included Brandl restaurant in Belmar, Select Technology Group in Spring Lake and the Lakewood BlueClaws.
Admission is $10 with a donation of a new unwrapped toy for the toy drive, which will benefit the Manna House, a transitional housing facility in Cliffwood Beach for women and children, as well as other families in the Asbury Park/Belmar community.
