Belmar and Lake Como Slates Set for School Board Elections


BELMAR/LAKE COMO — Three incumbents are seeking re-election to their three-year seats on the 10-member Belmar Board of Education: Kimberly Chek, Mark Furey and Rebecca Herbert. The candidate for the unexpired one-year time is Lisa Miller.

In Lake Como, three candidates are vying for two, three-year spots on the five-member school board: current members Debra Russo and Barbara Carol Hope, and newcomer Michele Cartaya.

All candidates filed their nominating petitions by the July 31 deadline. School board elections will be held on Tuesday, November 7.
