BELMAR, NJ — There was a flurry of activity yesterday outside the Belmar Arts Center, with artists, artisans and vendors offering an array of merchandise coming together for a holiday market.

The BAC-sponsored event was a welcome sight along Railroad Avenue, as the center has been closed since the spring because of the coronavirus pandemic. Throughout the afternoon, a steady stream of visitors perused the tables and displays filled with creations of all sorts — a bounty of items crafted with seashells, outdoor décor carved from wood and even sculpted dragons built with bottle caps.

Inspirational messages were showcased on wall art, towels and T-shirts made from eco-friendly fabric, and a wondrous array of paintings, sketches and mixed media art were sprinkled among the offerings.  And of course, there were plenty of holiday-themed items to fill Santa’s sleigh.
