Belmar-Avon-Lake Como Little League Sign-Up Gets Under Way

BELMAR/LAKE COMO, NJ — Belmar-Avon-Lake Como Little League’s five-week registration period for its 53rd season is under way at the Belmar Recreation Gymnasium.

Youngsters age 4 through 12 will be able to sign up every Monday and Tuesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. through February 27, and every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through March 3. The gym is located in the Belmar Municipal Building, 601 Main Street.

For 4- and 5-year-olds, the registration fee is $50 per child. For children age 6 and older, the fee is $100 per child. Cash or a check payable to BALC is due at the time of registration.

The league is open to boys and girls in Belmar, Avon-by-the-Sea and Lake Como, as well as St. Rose Grammar School students, regardless of their home address — a new Little League guideline beginning this year.  

Here is a breakdown of the league’s offerings:

  • Little Stars: 4- to 5-year-olds
  • Pony baseball/softball: 6- to 8-year-olds
  • Minor baseball/softball: 9- to 10-year-olds
  • Major baseball/softball: 11- to 12-year-olds

The league is seeking coaches and business sponsorships, and donations to help fund uniforms and equipment.
