Belmar Elementary PTO Welcomes New Officers, Kicks Off School Year with Book Fair

BELMAR, NJ — Belmar Elementary School PTO began the new school year by welcoming a new slate of officers during its first meeting of the year.

Taking over at the helm at its September 13 meeting was PTO president Carol Turano, who will be supported by vice president Virginia Conklin, treasurer Susan Trogu, recording secretary Erica Wortman and corresponding secretary Tara Morton.

And its calendar is already filling up with events — the first being the PTO-sponsored Scholastic Book Fair, to be held from Monday, September 18 through Friday, September 22 during school hours from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Beginning at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, parents will have the opportunity to visit the fair during Back to School night.

Scholastic Book Fairs also offers online shopping for Belmar Elementary School through Saturday, September 23 by clicking here. All orders will be shipped free to the school.

The PTO is also looking for book fair volunteers to assist in setting it up and packing it away, helping student shoppers or just lending a helping hand. For more information, contact Mimie Lusardi at 848-391-8747 or
