BELMAR, NJ — It’s a new year at Belmar Elementary School, where students are off to a fresh start with new classes, new teachers and the opportunity to embrace learning and even make new friends.

The school opened its doors on September 6 with three half-day sessions for some 550 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade who live in Belmar or Lake Como. They were welcomed by a 60-member faculty that includes administrators, teachers and other professionals.

At the showing of “Jaws” at Movies on the Beach at dusk today, September 9, Belmar Elementary School’s eighth-grade class will be holding a popcorn fundraiser.
